A patch has been created in China that tracks the growth of a malignant tumor under the skin

Specialists from the National Tsing Hua University, together with scientists from Taipei Medical University (Taiwan), have developed a patch that tracks the size of a tumor in the epidermis. The researchers tested the technology on mice with tumors and found that the development accurately tracked tumor changes over the course of a week.

The patch contains nanoparticles of the metal hafnium, which change their location and properties when the tumor is deformed. The built-in wireless system allows visualization data to be sent to the user's and clinician's phone.
