The government has restricted the purchase of foreign electric wheelchairs

The government has restricted the purchase of foreign electric wheelchairs for state needs under the "second extra" rule. Applications with such goods are rejected if there is at least one offer with similar medical products made in Russia or from the EAEU countries. The corresponding draft Resolution No. 1443 of 02.09.2023 has been published on the legal information portal.

Amendments are being made to the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 617 of 30.04.2020. So, the position "wheelchairs, except for parts and accessories (in relation to electric wheelchairs corresponding to code 208480)" will appear in the document.

At the same time, electric strollers for the disabled were excluded from purchases under the "third extra" rule. After the amendments are approved, the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 102 of 05.02.2015 regulating such purchases will apply only to mechanical wheelchairs. Also, the minimum quotas for the purchase of Russian products in relation to electric wheelchairs were reduced to one item of the commodity nomenclature 208480 instead of twelve.
