J&J contact lenses will not be included in the list of parallel imports
American Johnson & Johnson's Acuvue contact lens brand is not planned to be included in the new list of parallel imports, as the company confirmed the continuation of deliveries to Russia, Vasily Osmakov, First Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said. Whether the measure will affect other lens manufacturers, he did not specify. In the spring of 2023, the agency considered adding lenses from J&J, Alcon and Bausch & Lomb to the list, after a number of distributors reported the suspension of shipments due to the tightened procedures by the US authorities for exporting products to Russia.

Russian developers have created a device that allows you to see images without using your eyes. It is a device similar to a medical mask, with a camera on the outside and with stimulants that transmit signals through the tongue to the brain
A non-invasive device that can provide a replacement for vision has been developed by the Russian startup Umwelt, a member of the Sber500 international accelerator. It is a device similar to a medical mask, with a camera on the outside and with stimulators that transmit signals through the tongue to the brain, bypassing the other senses. The device is based on the principles of neuroplasticity, that is, the ability of the brain to redistribute its functions between cortical zones.
The developed mask is a compact wearable device that can be used for indoor and outdoor navigation, as well as for studying and interacting with a computer or smartphone.
