Oryol authorities have determined the cost estimate for completing the long-term construction hospital
The governor of the Oryol region, Andrei Klychkov, approved the design and estimate documentation for the completion of the construction of a well-known local long-term construction project - a multidisciplinary medical center on the basis of the Oryol regional clinical hospital (OKB). The building, called the Titanic by local residents, began construction in 2006. One of the last attempts to find a contractor for the project at the end of 2022 again ended in failure - the FAS, following complaints from companies, canceled the purchase. Now the completion of the final stage of construction is estimated at 6.5 billion rubles, most of which - 4.5 billion rubles - will be spent on equipment.

In Moscow, neural networks were taught to recognize sinusitis on x-rays of the nasal sinuses
In the capital's clinics, neural networks began to recognize signs of ENT diseases on X-rays, the press service of the Moscow mayor reported on November 14. Algorithms can detect sinusitis based on sinus x-rays. The service, based on artificial intelligence (AI), highlights areas of possible pathologies in images, carries out automatic measurements and compiles a description.
As Yuri Vasiliev, director of the Center for Diagnostics and Telemedicine, explained, correctly describing an X-ray image for sinusitis is often a non-trivial task. Due to the fact that different bone structures overlap each other, it can be difficult for the doctor to evaluate inflammatory changes in the soft tissues of the sinuses. The AI will draw the specialist’s attention to the thickening of the mucous membranes and calculate the percentage of filling of the sinuses with pathological contents.
Israeli startup receives new FDA approval to use AI in diabetes treatment
Israeli company DreaMed has received new FDA approval to use an artificial intelligence (AI) product to help guide patients with diabetes. The endo.digital platform provides an automated, comprehensive care plan that is compatible with most devices used for both blood glucose monitoring and insulin administration, NoCamels reports.
The Ministry of Health is considering the possibility of conducting research with AI at the expense of compulsory health insurance
The Russian Ministry of Health is considering the possibility of using artificial intelligence as an alternative to a second opinion when conducting mammography. If the proposal is accepted, it is planned to finance these studies through compulsory health insurance (CHI), Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Pavel Pugachev told reporters.
“As part of the medical examination, it is stipulated that when conducting mammography there should be two opinions. Today we are working on the story related to the possibility of using artificial intelligence to support the doctor when conducting this alternative to a second opinion, a second doctor. We have prepared such proposals for inclusion into the state guarantee program, we expect that this will be accepted and that from 2024 this opportunity to be financed from compulsory health insurance in relation to relevant research will be provided,” he said during a briefing at the XXVII Russian Oncology Congress.

A unique neural network has been created in Russia to determine the type of breathing
An AI model for automatically determining the type of breathing during lung therapy was created by specialists from Volga State Technical University. According to them, the development, which has no analogues, can work at home with a conventional camera, which expands the possibilities of rehabilitation. The results were published in the journal Algorithms.
According to scientists, special breathing training is one of the most important elements of rehabilitation after a number of diseases; they can also be an effective way to reduce stress and generally strengthen the body.
