The Ministry of Finance will change the requirements for purchasing medicines and medical devices from small businesses and NPOs

The Russian Ministry of Finance has proposed simplifying the requirements for government customers to purchase goods from small businesses and socially oriented non-profit organizations (SONPOs). Currently, according to the federal law "On the contract system in the sphere of purchasing goods, works, services to meet state and municipal needs", the minimum volume of purchases from such business entities is set at 25% of the total annual volume of purchases. The regulator considers it necessary not to take into account the cost of purchasing medicines and medical devices by a customer whose annual volume of such purchases exceeds 20 million rubles when calculating the total annual volume of purchases.

Hong Kong University Brings Mobile Dental AI to Community Care

The Dental AI Community Care Project is an AI-powered mobile app for detecting gum disease. It will train volunteer dental students and community members to provide personalized oral care advice using GumAI technology developed by a team of researchers from universities in China and Malaysia.

The mobile app displays the gum health results in different colors, making it easy to spot potential oral health problems: red indicates poor oral health, yellow indicates the need for precautions, and green indicates good health.

HKU Dentistry aims to expand the project, which is currently in its first three months, to 18 districts in Hong Kong. The project is supported by an older people-focused union and support organization; he also received support from lawyers and county officials.
